Type Locality: Nigeria, Gotel Mountains, Chappal Waddi.
Vernacular Names: Western Vlei Rat.
Distribution: Recorded only from the Gotel Mtns, E Nigeria, and Mount Oku, W Cameroon.
Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.
Discussion: A species with 5 laminae on m1, closely related to O. barbouri and O. lacustris in mountains of eastern Africa according to Dieterlen and Van der Straeten (1992).
