Material examined: Kerman Province: 4♂ 8♀ 35 km E. Rafsanjan, Kaboutarkhan , 1689 m, N30º18.098′ E56º19.167 ′, 23.VI.2019, V.M. Gnezdilov & F. Mozaffarian leg. ( ZIN and HMIM) .

Notes: New record of the genus and species for the Iranian fauna. The species was described based on the series of specimens collected near Tigrovaya Balka in Haloxylon desert in southern Tadzhikistan and in Ashgabad in Turkmenistan ( Dlabola, 1960b). Later, it was recorded also from Kazakhstan ( Mitjaev, 1971). In Repetek ( Turkmenistan) the species was collected on Calligonum spp. ( Kaplin, 1993) .

Comparison of drawings by Dubovsky (1968) with the original description by Dlabola (1960b) showed their identity and accordingly we suggest to treat Melicharella pascualis Dubovsky, 1968 described from Uzbekistan (Bukhara province) and collected on Calligonicum ( Dubovsky, 1968) as a junior synonym of Melicharella basalis Dlabola, 1960 .
