Diagnosis
Antennae straight and relatively short. Antennae 1 inserted on anterior surface of head; peduncle of three short articles; flagellum composed of enlarged first article (callynophore), with dense brush of aesthetascs medially, and one or two tiny terminal articles. Antennae 2 inserted on anterior or ventral surface of head, composed of a few slender articles, sometimes reduced in females. Pereopods 37 always simple. Developing eggs and young held in brood pouch underneath pereon, made up of oostegites on pereonites 25.
Three families: Vibiliidae , Paraphronimidae and Cyllopodidae .
