urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:A3AA1AB0-9854-4E68-BCEE-16A374F318C0 ( Figs 11–18 View FIGURES 11–16 View FIGURES 17–18 )
Diagnosis. F2 longer than F3; funiculars dark brown. Mesoscutal midlobe and mesoscutellar disc areolate; mesoscutal midlobe with a forked or paired reddish area anteriorly. Axilla with distinct longitudinal and oblique carinae anteriorly (dorsally). Axillula areolate but with some longitudinal carinae. Stigmal vein narrow, at nearly a right angle with wing margin. Propodeum medially without reticulate sculpture.
This species is similar to O. stramineipes and O. yaax in having a usually large body size, but more strongly resembles O. pirca and others with a completely areolate axillula. It is especially similar to O. pirca , from which it differs in having some longitudinal axillular carinae amidst its areolate sculpture ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 11–16 ) instead of having a regularly areolate axillula, and in having a differently shaped stigmal vein ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 11–16 versus Fig. 160 View FIGURES 155–162 ). These differences are slight, but are upheld by distinctive molecular differences.
Description. Female. Length 4.0– 5.1 mm.
Color: Head and mesosoma green with reddish to yellowish luster on the mesoscutum medially, axilla laterally, and at frenal groove. Pedicel pale brown; anellus pale brown; flagellum brown. Coxae brown to greenish; fore femur mostly brown, tips pale; mid and hind femora yellow. Fore wing slightly infuscate ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11–16 ); venation dark brown. Petiole green; gaster brown to green.
Head: Head width:head height 1.1; face reticulate; longitudinal groove between eye and torulus present; eyes bare, inter-ocular distance:eye height 1.5–1.6; malar space:eye height 0.6–0.8; supraclypeal area longer than broad, smooth; clypeus smooth. Flagellum length:head height 11.6; F2 3.0–3.3× as long as broad, 1.3× as long as F3; following funiculars subequal in width, progressively shorter.
Mesosoma: Mesosoma length:height 1.4–1.5. Mesoscutal midlobe coarsely areolate, with minute setae; lateral lobe areolate to nearly smooth. Axilla areolate with some longitudinal and oblique carinae anteriorly (dorsally); mesoscutellar disc areolate, with broader sculpture posteriorly; frenal line irregularly foveate; frenum areolatereticulate; axillular groove anteriorly absent, broad and foveate posteriorly; axillula areolate-reticulate with longitudinal carinae. Propodeum areolate, with irregular or no median carina; propodeal disc areolate; callus areolate-reticulate, with 3–5 setae. Mesepisternum areolate-reticulate laterally, smooth ventrally, broadly rounded anterior to mid coxa. Upper mesepimeron smooth; lower mesepimeron areolate-reticulate; transepimeral sulcus distinct. Metepisternum laterally nearly smooth dorsally, areolate-reticulate ventrally. Hind coxa 2.1–2.3× as long as broad; hind femur 6.4–7.8× as long as broad. Fore wing 2.6–2.7× as long as broad, 2.9–3.0× as long as mesothorax; stigma with 5 sensilla, 2 basal and 3 apical. Hind wing costal cell with a broad bare area.
Metasoma: Petiole 2.7–2.8× as long as broad, 1.0–1.2× as long as hind coxa, areolate but sometimes nearly smooth anteriorly, anterior carina moderate. Antecostal sulcus crossed by carinae; acrosternite posteriorly angulate.
Male. Length 3.5–3.7 mm. Head width:head height 1.2; scape pale brown; flagellum length:head height 2.0– 2.1, F2 2.2–2.6× as long as broad. Fore femur mostly brown, tips pale; fore tibia yellow; mid femur mostly dark brown basally, becoming yellow apically; mid tibia yellow; hind femur mostly brown, tips pale. hind tibia yellow. Petiole 7.0–7.6× as long as broad, petiole length:hind coxa length 2.2–2.3.
Distribution. Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama.

Etymology. The Mangue word for “red,” referring to the large reddish area on the mesoscutal midlobe (see Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11–16 and color section in description above).
FIGURES 11–16. Orasema arimbome. ♀: 11. Habitus (holotype). 12. Head, cly = clypeus, scly = supraclypeal area. 13. Antenna (holotype), with F2 and F6–F7 inset, F1 = anellus, F2–F8 = funiculars, ped = pedicel, scp = scape. 14. Mesosoma (holotype), dorsal view, ax = axilla, llm = mesoscutal lateral lobe, mlm = mesoscutal midlobe. 15. Oblique view of mesoscutellum, axl = axillula, frn = frenum, scd = mesoscutellar disc. 16. Stigma and postmarginal vein, pmv = postmarginal vein, stv = stigma vein, cc = costal cell.
FIGURES 17–18. Orasema arimbome. ♀: 17. Propodeum, cal = propodeal callus, mtn = metanotum, ppd = propodeum. 18. Petiole (pet), ptc = anterior petiolar carina.
