Type Locality: India, Kashmir, Pir Panjal Mtns, 8500 ft (2591 m).
Vernacular Names: Subalpine Kashmir Vole.
Synonyms: Hyperacrius aitchisoni ( Miller 1897) ; Hyperacrius brachelix (Miller 1899) ; Hyperacrius zygomaticus Phillips 1969 .
Distribution: Subalpine scrub and meadows, 2450-3600 m, N India (Jammu and Kashmir) and N Pakistan.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
