Lectotype (Fawcett & Rendle, Fl. Jamaica 3: 140. 1914; Mears in Taxon 29: 89. 1980): Herb. Hermann 2: 9, No. 116 (BM-000621528) .

Current name: Alternanthera sessilis (L.) View in CoL DC. ( Amaranthaceae ).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle’s original indication of the Hermann material as type was restricted by Mears to the material in vol. 2: 9 (BM).
