Taphura minusculus Thouvenot, 2012 View in CoL
Taphura minusculus Thouvenot 2012: 313 View in CoL (type material in the collection of the Linnean Society of Lyon ).
Type locality. French Guiana, Road to Bélizon, kilometer mark 3, then forest path kilometer mark 9.
Remarks. This is the smallest of the Taphura species. It has a similar appearance to T. boulardi , which is also from French Guiana, but T. minisculus has a body length of only 6 mm ( Thouvenot 2012) compared to the body length of 11.3–13.0 mm for T. boulardi ( Sanborn 2011) . The claspers curve dorsally then form a terminal hook.
Distribution. The species is currently known only from the type series collected in French Guiana ( Thouvenot 2012).
