Comments. Tanymastigites is a North African endemic genus with five species found in the region: T. mzabica , an Algerian endemic, T. perrieri (an Algero-Tunisian endemic), T. jbiletica Thiery & Brtek, 1985 , T. brteki Thiery, 1986 , both Moroccan endemics, and T. cyrenaica Brtek, 1972 , a Libyan endemic. There have been no recent records of the rare and localized T. mzabica .
