Ruvettus pretiosus Cocco, 1833 View in CoL

An Oilfish, Gempylidae ( Fig. 2Q View Figure 2 ), was collected on 29 August 2017 by the fishing master Mr David Orseauneau on the longliner Mamouth from the île d’Yeu, at 44.65°N, – 2.25°W with the previous Escolar and landed in the fish market of Les Sables-d’Olonne. The individual measured 665 mm TL. Recorded by PC. The present specimen is a new record for the Northeastern Atlantic where the species is uncommonly recorded ( Parin, 1986b; Quéro et al., 1986, 1988, 2007b).
