A Pilotfish, Echeneidae ( Fig. 2L View Figure 2 ), was captured on May 2017 by the fishing master Mr Rémy Descamps on the coastal gillnetter Atalante from Arcachon. It was collected in a trammel net used for Common sole off south Lacanau (Bay of Biscay, Aquitaine, France), at about 44.9°N, – 1.5°W, at about 50 m depth. The fresh specimen measured about 25 cm TL. Recorded by LM. The present specimen is a new record for the Bay of Biscay where the species is uncommonly recorded ( Legendre, 1950; Quéro et al., 2007a).
