Synorthocladius Thienemann, 1935 View in CoL
Synorthocladius semivirens (Kieffer, 1909) is a widely distributed Holarctic species, inhabiting springs, streams, and shallow still water. We collected a male of this species from Sixmile Creek in mid and late August, and a male and associated pupae from Otter Creek in late August, both on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage. We also collected a pupa from Answer Creek near Talkeetna in mid-June. Our records of the larvae come from Kaskanak Creek in Southwest Alaska , from a second-order tributary to Mole Harbor on Admiralty Island ( Arctos 2023) many lakes, rivers, and streams in the Southeastern bioregion, and six streams in the Southwest bioregion. This is a new faunistic record for Alaska .
