Description. Only one series of specimens from Northern Caucasus (North Ossetia, the Ardon River Basin, SadonUnal Depression) was investigated. Penis in side view with straight or slightly convex serrated ventral crest in basal two-thirds and with dorsal margin strongly expanded in basal half ( Figs. 241–242 View FIGURES 228–247 ). Male anal collar appendage bifurcate, with dorsal angle pointing up and ventral angle directed back ( Figs. 243–245 View FIGURES 228–247 ).

Biology. Collected in mountainous-xerophyte plant community in arid depression on southern slopes of Skalisty Mtn. Range.

Calling signal. Unknown.

Distribution. Italy, Greece, Turkey ( Zakhvatkin, 1946), Northern Caucasus (North Ossetia). The records from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Central Asia by Logvinenko (1984), Mityaev (1971), and Dubovskiy (1966) in fact belong to A. (A.) laevis .

Remarks. Mountainous-xerophyte plant communities are typical of arid regions of Transcaucasia and the Mediterranean. Thus, the occurence of this species in similar biotopes North of the Great Caucasus Mtn. Range is quite natural.
