Ephestia fredi ( Amsel, 1961) View in CoL *

Material examined. Russia: 6 ♁, 1 ♀, Sirtych, 11.vi.2022 ; 2 ♁, Muni , 2.vi.2022, 3.vi.2022.

Remarks. The species was recently found in Turkey, imago and male genitalia were illustrated (Kemal et al. 2020). In Dagestan, near the village Muni, E. fredi inhabits arid stony mountain places ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–4 ). In environs of the village Sirtych, it flies on dry stony slopes with steppe vegetation ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–4 ).

Distribution. Iran, East Turkey (Van, Iğdır and Kars Provinces), Northeast Caucasus (Dagestan) ( Amsel 1961; Kemal et al. 2020).

Ephestia unicolorella Staudinger, 1879 *

Material examined. Russia: 3 ♀, Chirkata, 30.v.2022 ; 1 ♀, Muni, 2.vi.2022; 1 ♁, Talgi , 14.vi.2022 .

Remarks. Our diagnosis of the series from Dagestan is based on works by Leraut (2002, 2014). In our opinion, all previous records of Ephestia parasitella Staudinger, 1859 in Russia need verification.

Distribution. Turkey, Syria, Transcaucasia, Iran, Northeast Caucasus (Dagestan) ( Leraut 2002, 2014).
