Smetana, 1995a: 239 ( Quedius ; subgenus Microsaurus ; Type locality: China, Sichuan, Gongga Shan, above Camp 2, 2850 m); Smetana, 1997: 453 (female); Smetana, 2001: 200 (key to species from China); Herman, 2001: 3166 (world catalog); Smetana, 2004: 659 (catalog for Palaearctic region); Smetana, 2006: 69.

Material examined. CHINA: Sichuan Province: 1 ♂, Luding County, Moxi Township, Changheba, 3100 m, 16. V. 2009, coll. Jing Li and Hui Zhai (IZ-CAS).

Measurements. BL = 9.8 mm, BW = 2.0 mm, HL/PL/EL = 1.00: 1.10: 1.43, HW/PW/EW/AW = 1.00: 1.25: 1.54: 1.35, HW/HL = 0.94, HEL/HTL = 0.85, PW/PL = 1.07, EW/EL = 1.01, ESL/EL = 0.58.

Distribution. Quedius haemon Smetana is known only from the Gongga mountain range in Sichuan Province, at high altitudes between 1940 m and 3200 m. The examined specimen was collected in May by sifting leaf litter.
