Sphex nigerrima Scopoli, 1763: 295 , neotype, ♀, “ Switzerland ”, designated by Van der Vecht & Menke 1968: 123, deposited in Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie, Leiden, the Netherlands.
Material examined. (10) 1♀, 2♂, 30. VI .2014, AL, MP, VL; (14) 1♀, 12.VII.2012, VL, MP [ EATB] .
Distribution. Russia: European part (North, North-West, Centre, East, North Caucasus, Crimea), Ural, Western Siberia (Altai Terr.), Eastern Siberia (* Khakassia, Irkutsk Prov., Buryat Rep., Yakutsk Rep.), Far East (Amur Prov., Khabarovsk Terr., Primorskii Terr., Sakhalin, Kurils, Kamchatka Terr.). Widely distributed Holarctic species. In Palaearctic occurs from Western Europe and North Africa in the West to Russian Far East in the East.
Remarks. This species is newly recorded from Khakassia.
