Apanteles antipoda Ashmead, 1900: 355 ; Apanteles manilae Ashmead, 1904: 19 ; Apanteles narangae Viereck, 1913: 642 ; Microgaster ruficrus Haliday, 1834: 253 ; Apanteles sydneyensis Cameron, 1911: 342 .
Diagnosis. Entire hind coxa densely rugose. Scutellum densely punctate, inter-puncture spaces polished. Hairs on tergite 3 concentrated in a single apical row. Metasoma usually laterally bright yellowish.

Host records. About 100 lepidopteran host species in Arctiidae , Brachodidae , Dilobidae , Gelechiidae , Geometridae , Hesperiidae , Lasiocampidae , Lycaenidae , Lymantriidae , Noctuidae , Nymphalidae , Pieridae , Plutellidae , Pyralidae , and Tortricidae . This host range includes several stem borers considered as pests of Poaceae .
Distribution records. Cosmopolitan except North and South Americas. Introduced into Australia, Cook Islands, Florida, Hawaii and New Zealand. Reunion (new record).
