Etymology: A homage to C. C. Young (Yang Zhongjian), describer of the first Chinese procolophonid, and the Latin suffix etta, a diminutive.
Type species: Youngetta dongshengensis ( Li, 1983) , comb. nov.
= ‘ Eumetabolodon ’ dongshengensis Li, 1983
Holotype: IVPP V.6073, a partial skull ( Fig. 26). Collected at Wusilangou, Hantai Valley, Dongsheng town , Inner Mongolia, Lower Triassic ( Li, 1983).
Diagnosis: The genus can be recognized by the presence of seven long, conical, bulbous maxillary teeth.
