— Lectotypus (designated here): UNITED KINGDOM. England, Dorset, Lyme Regis , 50.725ºN 2.940ºW, Nov 1891, A. Lister (one dry mount L:B.M.91!, engraved 355, BM001089147 ) GoogleMaps . Syntypus: UNITED KINGDOM. England, Dorset, Lyme Regis , 50.725ºN 2.940ºW, Nov 1891, L.M. Fowler (one slide, L:B.M.91!, engraved 367, BM001089146 ) GoogleMaps .

NOTES: In the description of this variety Lister (1894: 121) noted “Lyme Regis, Dorset (L:B.M.91); France ( Paris
Herb.)”. In BM we found two slides, with material from Lyme Regis, Dorset, with the same date and number L:
B.M.91, one a dry mount with a fragment of substrate supporting 5 sporocarps collected by Lister and the other collected by L.M. Fowler. We chose the first as the lectotype as it is in good condition and macroscopic where the second is a deteriorated microscopic preparation. We did not find any boxes of the var. microspora but one (BM 1395)
was listed as on loan.
