NOTES: In the description of this species Lister & G. Lister (1902: 209) wrote “In January, 1902, Miss Agnes Fry collected a number of species of Mycetozoa in the grounds of Sir Thos. Hanbury, La Mortola, Ventimiglia, and she kindly sent us the fruits of her search for examination. Among them is a species of Chondrioderma with characters unlike those of any other of the genus with which we are aequainted”. In BM there is a box (BM 1971) and a slide (L:B.M.62 B) with a clear reference to the publication and data that coincide with what was written above, so this was chosen as the lectotype. There is also a handwritten note by Lister in his personal copy of the first edition of his monograph with the reference L:B.M.62 B. There are two other slides (1, 2) with the same data but no other numbers, and a reference to notebook XX: 2 (this notebook was unfortunately not located at the time we were there). There is also a box (BM 2370) with material from the same locality but dated “1.03”, a year after the publication of the species. On the same box label another sample from another locality is added and typewritten on the herbarium sheet is the mention of a duplicate removed from this box to a different sheet.
