NOTES: Lister & G. Lister (1904: 130) commented “Collected by Miss Constance Pim on fir-needless in the gardens of Sir T. Hanbury, La Mortola, Ventimiglia, Jan. 1903. We have only a single gathering of about twenty sporangia of this species,”. In BM there are two boxes of original material, BM 2383 with the lectotype and BM 2099 , with a piece of cardboard cut out from BM 2383 , so it is a duplicate and we consider it to be an isolectotype. This sample has a revision label with “Type specimen/ D. T. Kowalski July 1971 ”. We located a slide of the holotype (L:B.M.18 A) with reference to the publication and notes in notebook XX: 137. The species is no longer recognised as it is considered to be a synonym of Phys arum schroeteri Rostaf .
