Collection and habitat data.
Conotrachelus posticatus larvae develop in acorns of several oak species ( Gibson 1964). Schoof (1942) reported that this species was associated with Quercus , Carya , Prunus , and Crataegus . Most specimens from New Brunswick were collected from Lindgren funnel traps in a red oak forest. A few individuals were swept from foliage in the understory. Adults were collected during May, June, July, and August.
