Heterobostrychus aequalis (Waterhouse) View in CoL ( Figs 4G&H View FIGURE 4 )
Bostrychus aequalis Waterhouse, 1884: 215 .
Distribution in mainland China: GD, GX, SH, YN ( Chu & Zhang 1997).
Other distribution. Japan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Hainan, Hongkong, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Philippines, New Guinea, New Caledonia, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Europe, Africa ( Hua 2002; Liu & Beaver 2018)
Biology. The species has been reported as a pest in rubber plantations ( Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg. ) ( Lekutai 1981; Ho & Hashim 1997; Sittichaya & Beaver 2009). Numerous host trees are listed by Beeson & Bhatia (1937), and the species is clearly polyphagous. It is likely that the size and physiological condition of the host tree is more important than its taxonomic placement. Beeson & Bhatia (1937) described the gallery system o f H. aequalis .
