Distribution in mainland China: Unspecified locality in mainland China ( Liu & Geis 2019).
Other distribution. Europe, Caucasus, Mediterranean, Turkmenistan, Israel, Iran, Japan and introduced to Australia, New Zealand, USA and Argentina ( Liu & Geis 2019).
Biology. The species has been collected from Pistacia (Anacardiaceae) , Quercus (Fagaceae) , Juglans (Juglandaceae) , Ficus (Moraceae) , Populus (Salicaceae) and Vitis (Vitaceae) ( Liu et al. 2016). The larvae feed preferentially in dry sapwood, and several generations may succeed each other in the same piece of wood ( Liu & Geis 2019).
