Ceratiae & Acaciae media Jamaicensis spinosa bigeminatis foliis, flosculis stamin. atronitente fructu, siliquis parum intortis" in Plukenet, Phytographia: t. 1, f. 6. 1691; Almag. Bot.: 4, 95. 1696.

Current name: Pithecellobium unguis View in CoL - cati (L.) Mart. ( Fabaceae : Mimosoideae ).

Note: Although Isely (in Madroño 21: 287. 1972) noted the existence of material in LINN, he did not designate a type.
