Trechus hydropicus beutenmuelleri Jeannel, 1931
Trechus beutenmuelleri Jeannel, 1931: 436. Type locality: "mount Mitchell [Yancey County], North Carolina" (original citation). Holotype probably in MHNP. Etymology. The species was proposed for William Beutenmüller [1864-1934], curator of insects at the American Museum of Natural History. Beutenmüller collected extensively in the vicinity of New York and at Black Mountain in North Carolina and published mainly on Lepidoptera .
Distribution.
This subspecies ranges southwestwards from the Roan Mountain in Tennessee to the Black and Great Craggy Mountains at the edge of the Blue Ridge in western North Carolina (Barr 1979b: 44).
