Remarks.
Metriocnemus (Metriocnemus) beringiensis may be no more than a small form of Metriocnemus (Metriocnemus) fuscipes (Meigen, 1818) differing in having a strongly reduced or absent anal point and slightly fewer setae on squama. Chinese specimens have fewer setae (R with 18-28, R1 with 18-20, R4+5 with 15-38 setae) on the wing than Norwegian specimens (R with 39-69, 55, R1 with 27-47, 36, R4+5 with 37-81, 59 setae) ( Sæther 1995).
Distribution.
The species is previously recorded from the Nearctic and Palaearctic regions ( Ashe and O’Connor 2012). In China it was collected in Tibet in Oriental China for first time.
