Specimens measured. AC, AL, AM, BA, CE, MA, PA, PB, PE, RO, SE, SP (2, 3, 3, 6, 2, 4, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1, 3).
Dorsal shield of female mostly smooth, with scant anterolateral striae, 349 (330-384) long and 209 (195–226) wide. Setal lengths: j1 27 (23–31), j3 37 (31–42), j4 9 (8–11), j5 9 (8–11), j6 11 (8–14), J2 14 (11–17), J5 9 (8–11), z2 10 (8–11), z4 11 (8–14), z5 9 (6–11), Z1 14 (11–17), Z4 14 (11–14), Z5 51 (42–59), s4 39 (31–45), S2 15 (11–20), S4 14 (11–20), S5 13 (11–14), r3 13 (11–17) and R1 11 (8–14). Peritreme extending to level of j1. Distances between st1–st3 64 (59–68), st2–st2 70 (62–76), st5–st5 78 (65–90). Ventrianal shield 113 (99–127) long, 58 (51–71) wide at level of Zv2 and 60 (50–64) at anus level. Spermathecal calyx tubular, 21 (17–23) long; atrium elongate, about as wide as adjacent region of calyx. Fixed cheliceral digit 29 (25–34) long, with ten teeth; movable digit 33 (31–34) long, with four teeth. Macrosetae on legs I–IV, sharp-tipped; SgeI 35 (31–39), SgeII 34 (31–39), SgeIII 41 (37–45), SgeIV 66 (59–76), StiIII 37 (28–45), StiIV 53 (42–59) and StIV 93 (79–104) .

Distribution elsewhere. Benin, Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Venezuela.
Remarks. Species described from Brazil. Specimens mentioned by Farias et al. (1981), Noronha & Moraes (1989), Noronha & Mesa (1990), Bakker et al. (1993), Braun et al. (1993) and Moraes et al. (1990, 1993, 1994) as Amblyseius limonicus , Typhlodromalus limonicus , A. limonicus s.l. or T. limonicus s.l. were reidentified as Amblydromalus (cited as Typhlodromalus ) manihoti by Moraes et al. (1994). The measurements of the specimens examined in this work are similar to those of the original description.
