Dorsal shield of female mostly smooth, with scant anterolateral striae, 348 (340–352) long and 193 (170–200) wide. Setal lengths: j1 13 (12–15), j3 21 (20–23), j4 16 (15–18), j5 16 (15–18), j6 19 (17–20), J2 23 (20–25), J5 8 (7–10), z2 16 (15–18), z4 19 (17–20), z5 16 (15–18), Z1 21 (20–23), Z4 33 (30–37), Z5 55 (50–57), s4 23 (20–25), S2 24 (22–27), S4 18 (16–21), S5 16 (15–17), r3 15 (14–16) and R1 15. Peritreme extending forward almost to level of j1. Distances between st1–st3 63 (60–68), st2–st2 65 (63–65), st5–st5 61 (60–63). Ventrianal shield 118 (115–120) long, 108 (105–112) wide at level of Zv2 and 89 (83–90) wide at anus level. Spermathecal calyx horn-shaped, 23 (20–27) long; atrium forked at junction with major duct. Fixed cheliceral digit 30 (29–30) long, with four teeth; movable digit 31 (30–33) long, with two teeth. Macroseta only on basitarsus IV, sharp-tipped; StIV 61 (60–63) .
Distribution in Brazil. Amazonas ( Cruz et al., 2019), Bahia ( Barbosa et al., 2021), Paraná ( Barbosa et al., 2021), Pernambuco ( Moraes et al., 1993), Piauí ( Moraes et al., 1993), São Paulo ( Mineiro et al., 2006a; 2009a) and Tocantins ( Azevedo et al., 2020).

Remarks. Setal measurements were not provided in the original description of N. barkeri . The measurements of the specimens examined are similar to those provided by Athias-Henriot (1966), Moraes et al. (1989c), Zannou et al. (2006), Oliveira et al. (2012a) and Abo-Shnaf & Moraes (2014).
