Specimens measured. RS (3).
Dorsal shield of female mostly smooth, with lateral striae and scant posteromedian reticulation, 334 (330–340) long and 203 (200–212) wide. Setal lengths: j1 17 (15–18), j3 84 (80–85), j4 11 (10–11), j6 97 (95–110), J5 3, z2 23 (20–25), z4 90 (85–115), z5 4, Z1 108 (100–120), Z4 95 (93–99), Z5 97 (95–100), s4 124 (120–140), r3 31 (30–34) and R1 71 (70–75). Peritreme extending to level of z2. Distances between st1–st2 69 (65–70), st2–st2 85 (80–89), st5–st5 77 (75–80). Anal shield ovate, 78 (75–81) long and 67 (65–68) wide at widest part. Spermathecal calyx trumpet-shaped, 24 (23–28) long; atrium nodular. Fixed cheliceral digit 24 (23–24) long, with 2–3 teeth; movable digit 26 (25–26) long, with three teeth. Macroseta only on basitarsus IV, sharp-tipped; StIV 100 (95–110).
Distribution in Brazil. Rio Grande do Sul ( Furtado et al., 2006; Silva et al., 2008).
Distribution elsewhere. Argentina, Chile, Kenya, South Africa, USA and Zimbabwe.
Remarks. The measurements of the specimens examined are similar to those of the redescription by Tixier et al. (2010).
