Distribution in Iran. West Azarbaijan ( Samin et al. 2011).
General distribution. Europe, North Africa, Kazakhstan, Turkey, through Russia to China, Korea, Japan. Biology. Recorded in Iran from Pinus nigra (Pinaceae) ( Samin et al. 2011). The biology, gallery system and seasonal history are described by Chararas (1962) and Krivolutzkaya (1973). The species normally attacks dead trees, and has no economic importance ( Krivolutzkaya 1973).
