( Fig. 117 View FIGURE 117 )
Daidalotarsonemus ternifoliae Ochoa et al., 1991: 46 ; Lin & Zhang, 2002: 64. Diagnosis. Female: unknown. Male: Dorsum: Setae v1 as long as sc2 (~29), both longer than v2 (~15). Setae c1 as long as c2 (~27) both shorter than d (~36). Venter: Apodemes 5 visible at posterior end of poststernal apodeme. Legs: Sensory cluster of tibiotarsus I complete. Solenidion ω of tarsus II 11. Larva: unknown.
Redescription:
Gnathosoma : ovate in ventral view, length ~21, mean width ~20. Setae dgs ~14 slightly longer than vgs. Pharynx elongate.
Idiosoma—dorsum: length ~176, maximum width ~90. Prodorsal shield trapezoidal. Length of dorsal setae: v1 ~29, v2 ~15, sc1 ~35, sc2 ~29, c1 ~27, c2 ~27, d ~36. All setae slender and serrate. Seta sc2 laterad and slightly posterior to sc1.
Idiosoma—venter: Apodeme 1 fused to anterior end of prosternal apodeme; apodeme 2 fused to prosternal apodeme. Prosternal apodeme conspicuous, extending close to sejugal apodeme. Lines of fusion between coxae III and IV with venter of idiosoma mostly conspicuous; connecting between 3, 4 and poststernal apodemes diffuse.
Legs: Number of setae: leg I: 3-4-6(2)+8(1), leg II: 3-3-3-4(1), leg III: 1-3-4-3. Solenidion ω of tarsus I ~11, elongate. Sensory cluster of tibia I composed of three sensilla. Solenidion ω of tarsus II ~11, elongate. Trochanter IV wider than long. Seta v’ Ti ~67, serrate. Tarsus IV short, bearing 3 setae.
Type material deposition: holotype ♂ and one paratype ♂ originally deposited at CALFAUCR. However, according to current curator of Insect Collection of CALFAUCR, Dr. Hugo Aguilar, types of D. ternifoliae are missing and their location is unknown.
Locality: Desamparados, San José, Costa Rica ( Ochoa et al. 1991).
Remarks: According to the original authors, D. terifoliae is similar to D. leonardi and D. somalatus but the solenidia of tarsi I and II are longer in D. ternifoliae .
