( Fig. 69 A–B View FIGURE 69 )
Daidalotarsonemus limonensis Ochoa et al., 1991: 44 ; Lin & Zhang, 2002: 61. Diagnosis. Female: Dorsum: Coarse ornamentation present on prodorsum. Tergites C and D ornamented with longitudinal depressions. Setae v1 and c2 unmodified in shape. Setae sc2 and c1 clavate. Setae v1 longer than sc2. Setae c1 slightly longer c2. Setae c1 inserted anteriad midlength of tergite C. Setae d, e, f and h leaf-shaped, all lanceolate. Setae d and f similar in length (~ 25 and ~27). Setae e ~18 long. Venter: Tegula truncate, slightly arched posteriorly. Apodemes distinct. Poststernal apodeme bifurcated anteriorly. Legs: sensory cluster of tibiotarsus I complete. Male & larva: unknown.
Redescription:
Gnathosoma : ovate in ventral view. Pharynx dense, with muscular, sclerotized walls.
Idiosoma—dorsum: length ~140, width at level of c1 ~99. Prodorsal shield with coarse ornamentation posteriorly. Tergite C covered medially with waved and continuous ridges. Tergite D with coarse reticulation. Lengths of setae: sc1 ~11, d ~25, e ~14, f ~27 and h ~14. Setae v1 and c2 unmodified; sc2 and c1 clavate; d, e and f lanceolate. Setae sc2 inserted at same level as sc1.
Idiosoma—venter: Apodemes 1 conspicuous, fused to anterior end of prosternal apodeme. Apodemes 2 short and not fused to prosternal apodeme. Prosternal apodeme conspicuous from junction with apodeme 1 to apodeme 2 level. Sejugal apodeme uninterrupted. Apodeme 3 extending diagonally from proximity of base of seta 3a to anterior margin of trochanter III. Apodeme 4 extending diagonally from midlength of poststernal apodeme to base of seta 3b. Poststernal apodeme bifurcated anteriorly. Posterior margin of tegula slightly arched. Setae ps smooth.
Legs: Number of setae: leg I: 3-4-6(2)+7(1), leg II: 3-3-4-4(1), leg III: 1+3-4-4. Sensory cluster of tibiotarsus I complete.
Type material deposition: holotype ♀ originally deposited at CALFAUCR. However, according to current curator of Insect Collection of CALFAUCR, Dr. Hugo Aguilar, holotype of D. limonensis is not there and its location is unknown.
Locality: Limon Province, Costa Rica ( Ochoa et al. 1991).
