Remark: Cepheidae Berlese, 1896 , the commonly used name for this oribatid mite family, is a junior homonym of Cepheidae Agassiz, 1862 (Cnidaria) . A proposal to establish a replacement name for Cepheidae Berlese has been submitted to the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature ( Halliday & Norton 2019).
