Comments: This form is very similar to E. (Erythmelus) flavovarius (Walker) , to which it is likely conspecific if the minor difference in color of the mesoscutum, as indicated in the key above, represents intraspecific variation; however, there is also a slight chance that it may indicate a separate species. The only meaningful difference between them, a somewhat darker posterior part of the mesoscutum, slightly ( Figure 11) to notably brownish in E. sp. vs. distinctly yellow in E. flavovarius ( Figure 1 View Figure 1 ), thus does not justify description of a new species without having on hand other supporting information such as molecular data. The junior author has also examined similar extralimital specimens, as follows: IRAN, ALBORZ, Karaj, University College of Agriculture & Natural Resources (University of Tehran), 1–3.ix.1977, J. T. Huber (behind nematology greenhouse) [1♀, UCRC]. UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, SHARJAH, Desert Park, 25.17°N, 55.42°E, 25.i–22.ii.2005, A. van Harten [3♂, 2♀, UCRC].
