Philometra lobotidis Moravec, Walter & Yuniar, 2012
Host: Lobotes surinamensis (Bloch, 1790) ( Perciformes : Lobotidae ).
Site of infection: Body cavity.
Locality: South Bali Sea, Indonesia.
Date of collection: 23 July 2013.
Prevalence: 1 infected/4 examined.
Specimens deposited: Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense, Indonesia (MZBNa 730).
Remarks. One subgravid female and several fragments of P. lobotidis were reported from the abdominal cavity of one Lobotes surinamensis . This species was originally described from the same host and site from southern Javanese waters. Our specimens had the gland poorly developed and indistinct, a broad caudal end, corresponded to the original description, and were isolated from the same host and site inside the fish ( Moravec et al. 2012). This is the first record of P. lobotidis from Balinese waters, thus extending its range of distribution. The species can be distinguished from the most similar species P. epinepheli Dewi & Palm, 2013 by the presence of caudal projections in the gravid females, and its location in the abdominal cavity vs. in the opercula.
