ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868a: 47.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro Panormitano [in Palermo’s territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (in poor condition, missing fore- and left mid-legs, posterior part of thorax crushed) ( MZUF: Box 17): Stevenia Desv. / sicula Rnd. / 902 / holotype ♂, Stevenia sicula Rnd., T. Pape det., 1986 / Paykullia nubilipennis (Lw) , T. Pape det., 1986.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Paykullia nubilipennis (Loew, 1847) View in CoL ( Pape 1989: 357, Herting 1993: 115, Peris & González-Mora 2007: 49; Cerretti et al. 2020: 85).

REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 47) described Stevenia sicula from a single male: “ Specimen in agro Panormitano lectum , misit D. Mina [sic!] Palumbo [Specimen collected in Palermo’s territory, sent by Mr. Minà Palumbo ]”. Pape (1989: 357) reported the holotype male in the MZUF.
