Alticomerus trinotatus Rondani, 1856
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1856: 121.
TYPE LOCALITY: Rondani gave no type locality in his original description but presumably it is Italy because the work deals with Italian species .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype (missing head, right wing, right mid- and hind-legs) ( MZUF: Box 35): Alticomerus Rndn. / trinotatus Rndn. , Parma / Pedemont [= Piedmont] / 1839; 1 specimen, syntype (sex not determinable, mostly covered by mold) ( MZUF: Box 35): Alticomerus Rndn. / trinotatus Rndn. , Parma / 1839.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Odinia maculata (Meigen, 1830) ( Krivosheina 1984: 261) View in CoL ; junior synonym of Odinia trinotata Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 View in CoL ( Gaimari & Mathis 2011: 312).
REMARKS: Rondani’s (1856: 121) key for the genus Alticomerus Rondani, 1856 lists Alticomerus trinotatus as its type species, but he did not provide a detailed description, type locality, number or sex of the specimens. We found two syntypes in this study.
