REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 225) described both sexes of Sphixapata albifrons without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths, from material he had collected and also received from F.M. Piccioli. Rondani named the species “ albifroas ” in his key (p. 223) but as “ albifrons ” in his description (p. 225). Acting as First Reviser (according to I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 24.2.4), Rondani (1862b: 11) determined the correct original spelling as “ albifrons ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 168). Pape (1988: 5) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotypes (5 ♂♂, 2 ♀♀) but did not mention an additional three specimens: two in the MZUF and one in the MSNPV (all are paralectotypes).
