CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Miltogramma punctatum Meigen, 1824 ( Verves 1986: 75) ; junior synonym of Senotainia albifrons (Rondani, 1859) View in CoL ( Pape 1988: 14, 1996: 134).
REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 40) described Miltogramma punctatella from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “( Foem.) … semel capta [(Fem.[ale]) … collected once]”. Pape (1988: 14) reported a ‘holotype’ in the MZUF without knowing of two additional syntypes ( one male and one female) in the MSNC, which brings the original syntype series to three specimens. In his original description, Rondani did not explicitly refer to a single female specimen, therefore Pape’s reference to a ‘holotype’ specimen must be considered as a lectotype (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 74.6). The additional syntypes in the MSNC not examined by Pape are paralectotypes.
