CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Trichopsomyia flavitarsis ( Meigen, 1822) View in CoL ( Peck 1988: 92, Belcari et al. 1995a: 11).
REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 34) described Pipizella neuphritica without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens. Pierre Goeldlin de Tiefenau examined the MZUF type material in 1976, adding the label “ lectotypus ” under one male, without publishing any lectotype designation. We found two syntypes in this study. In order to promote nomenclatural stability, we give credit to P. Goeldlin de Tiefenau and here designate as a lectotype for Pipizella neuphritica Rondani, 1868 the male labeled as such by him.
