Celtis henriquesii Engler (1900: 22) .
Type: — AFRICA. Angola, October 1859, fl., F.M.J. Welwitsch 6308 [BM, K: First-step lectotype, designated by Polhill in Kew Bull. 19(1): 140 (1964), as ‘isolectotypes’. Second-step lectotype designated here, BM barcode 000757297!; isolectotypes K (missing material), LISU barcode 221525!, P barcode 00253785!] .
Syntypes: —AFRICA. Angola, December 1898, fl., Dekindt 1049 (syntypes P barcode 00253787!, P barcode 00253788!, P barcode 00253789!); AFRICA. Angola, Bumbo, October 1859, fl. and fr., F.M.J. Welwitsch 6286 (syntypes K barcode 000243039!, LISU barcode 221527!, LISU barcode 221528!, P barcode 00253786!); AFRICA. Angola, Bumbo, October 1859, fl. and fr., F.M.J. Welwitsch 6307 (syntypes LISU barcode 221526!, P barcode 00253784!) .
Nomenclatural notes: —When describing C. henriquesii, Engler (1900) cited the syntypes Dekindt 1049, Welwitsch 6307, 6308, and 6286 without indicating the herbarium of deposit. Pohlhill (1964) performs a first lectotypification step by indicating that specimen “Welwitsch 6308” is deposited in BM and K. Considering that Pohlhill (1964) did not choose the lectotype, we propose a second lectotypification step (ICN Art. 9.17) and designate the BM specimen barcode 000757297 as lectotype (ICN Art. 9.3), since the K specimen was not located.
Taxonomic notes: —Synonym of C. africana ( Sattarian et al. 2006) .
