COMMENT: Includes Euroscaptor and Asioscalops ; formerly included Parascaptor , Mogera , and Scaptochirus ; see Gureev, 1979; but also see Corbet and Hill, 1980:33. Imaizumi, 1970, The Handbook of Japanese Land Mammals, Vol. 1, considered Euroscaptor a monotypic genus containing rnizura. This entire group needs revision (OLR).
