Distribution:— According to Govaerts et al. (2016), Cyrtorchis monteiroae occurs in fourteen countries ( Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, São Tomé and Príncipe, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Angola), although we have not examined any material from Ghana, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. Cyrtorchis monteiroae is thus distributed in Upper Guinea, Lower Guinea and Congolian Domains.
Habitat and ecology:— Evergreen forests. Usually found near rivers or lakes, between 50 and 1,219 m elevation. Flowering peaks in September and October.
