Conoderus pakistanicus Mangi, Pahnwar & Shaikh, 2022: 201 ; syn. nov.
Distribution. India, Iran, Pakistan; Oriental Region ( Cate 2007, Akhter et al. 2012 a, Naz et al. 2012, Platia 2015 a, Platia & Ghahari 2016).
Literature. Cate (2007: 102): catalogue; Akhter et al. (2012a: 45): catalogue, distributional record from Pakistan; Naz et al. (2012: 55): revision, figures of habitus and male and female genitalia; Akhter et al. (2014: 114): remark, key, figure of antenna; Platia (2015a: 6): distributional record from Pakistan, figures of male genitalia; Platia & Ghahari (2016: 242): distributional remark; Mangi et al. (2022: 201): original description of Conoderus pakistanicus , figures of male habitus and last abdominal segments with partly visible genitalia.
Remarks. Mangi et al. (2022) described Conoderus pakistanicus Mangi, Pahnwar & Shaikh, 2022 but it is clear from their figures that the description was based on the genus Lanelater . The images of aedeagus in the study by Mangi et al. (2022) correspond with the aedeagus of Lanelater bipunctatus (especially paramere with bluntly rounded apex is characteristic for L. bipunctatus and clearly distinguish it from congeners). Additionally, the habitus of C. pakistanicus also correspond well with habitus of L. bipunctatus ; they both share rather short antennae, more or less short pronotum (in comparison with pronotum in some other Pakistani Lanelater species), and rather compact elytra. Therefore, we here synonymize Conoderus pakistanicus Mangi, Pahnwar & Shaikh, 2022 with Lanelater bipunctatus (Candèze, 1857) .
