Distribution in Iran. Ardabil ( Modarres Awal 1987; Ghahari et al. 2010a), Bushehr, Fars, Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Lorestan ( Hoberlandt 1997), East Azarbaijan ( Sadaghian et al. 2002; Havaskary et al. 2012), Golestan, Guilan, Mazandaran ( Hoberlandt 1997; Sakenin et al. 2008; Linnavuori 2008), Kerman ( Hoberlandt 1997; Zeinoddini Memand et al. 2012, 2013), Khorasan ( Hoberlandt 1997; Modarres Awal 2008), Sistan & Baluchestan ( Hoberlandt 1955, 1997; Seidenstücker 1957; Safavi 1959), Tehran ( Seidenstücker 1957), Iran (no locality cited) ( Rider 2006; Ribes & Pagola Carte 2013). According to Modarres Awal (1997b), A. heegeri is widely distributed in Iran.
General distribution. Ponto-Mediterranean (North Africa and Canary archipelago), Near East, Central Asia, Arabian Peninsula, extending to tropical Africa.
Host plants. On Prunus armeniaca ( Rosaceae ), Pinus sp. ( Pinaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1987), Phaseolus sp. ( Fabaceae ), Peganum harmala ( Zygophyllaceae ), Pistacia vera ( Anacardiaceae ), Populus sp. ( Salicaceae ), Salicornia sp. ( Chenopodiaceae ) or Salsola sp. ( Amaranthaceae ), Seidlitzia rosmarinus ( Amaranthaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1997b); on various trees belonging to Cupressaceae , Fagaceae , Anacardiaceae , Araliaceae , Ranunculaceae ( Dusoulier & Lupoli 2006) ; Xanthium occidentale (Sakenin et al. 2008) , in pistachio garden ( Zeinoddini Memand et al. 2012, 2013), and also on Alhagi pseudalhagi ( Fabaceae ), Peganum harmala ( Zygophyllaceae ) ( Zeinoddini Memand et al. 2013). Also recorded on Juniperus sp. ( Cupressaceae ), Eucalyptus sp. ( Myrtaceae ), Euphorbia sp. ( Euphorbiaceae ), Rhamnus sp. ( Rhamnaceae ) (Ribes & Pagola Carte 2013).
