Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 (distribution)
Catogenus decoratus Newman 1839: 303 (description; distribution).
Catogenus decoratus: Bruch 1914: 326 (catalog; distribution); Blackwelder 1945: 423 (catalog; distribution); Ślipiński 1989: 109 – 110 (re-description; distribution; figs. 49–53); Burckhardt & Ślipiński 2003: 823 (references; distribution; figs. 317–321).
Literature records: CHILE ( Blackwelder 1945; Ślipiński 1989; Burckhardt & Ślipiński 2003); ARGENTINA ( Blackwelder 1945); Neuquén ( Bruch 1914).
Material examined: ARGENTINA: Neuquén: [without locality], 12-III-1898, C. Bruch, 1 ex. [ CBBA].
Note. The record of C. decoratus from Brazil by Blackwelder (1945) and repeated by Burckhardt & Ślipiński (2003) is possibly erroneous. Distributional data restrict it to the cold forests of Nothofagus in southern Chile and Argentina.
No known copyright restrictions apply. See Agosti, D., Egloff, W., 2009. Taxonomic information exchange and copyright: the Plazi approach. BMC Research Notes 2009, 2:53 for further explanation.
