Generitype of Mimusops Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 149. 1929).

Current name: Mimusops elengi L. ( Sapotaceae ).

Note: Friedmann (in Bosser & al., Fl. Mascareignes 116: 23. 1981) indicated material in LINN (presumably sheet 492.1) as the holotype, but this material was a later addition to the herbarium and not original material for the name.
