It is distributed in the Pyrenees, Sierra de Béjar and Moncayo between 800 and 1800 m of altitude ( Tkalců 1962, Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2004). Only four individuals were recorder in historical data ( Ornosa 1984, Castro 1996).

At present, it has been scarcely collected between 1440 and 1750 m ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ), in a grassland, in a beech forest and pine wood of Pinus uncinata and Pinus sylvestris with patches of subalpine scrub of Juniperus communis nana Willd. , foraging on Eryngium bourgatii Gouan. , Lotus corniculatus L., Trifolium pratense L. and Trifolium repens L.

According our current data, B. rupestris is rare and shows an orophilous tendency ( Table 2 View TABLE 2 ).

New records. Spain: Huesca : Ordesa, Circo de Soaso, 10-VII-2013, 2 queens, C. Ornosa leg., UCME . Lleida : Aigüestortes threshold, 26-VII-2006, 1 male, C. Ornosa leg., UCME ; Ruda track, 10-VII-2014, 1 queen, C. Ornosa leg., UCME .
