Rheumatobates prostatus Polhemus, 1975 View in CoL

( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 )

The distribution of this species is almost as restricted as that of R. ornatus . It has been collected in only a few estuaries and mangroves on the Pacific coasts of Costa Rica and Panama ( Polhemus 1975, Polhemus & Manzano 1992, Padilla-Gil & Pacheco-Chaves 2012). We examined several specimens from an approximately 4 m wide and 1 m deep estuary in a forested area of the Térraba-Sierpe wetland region, Puntarenas Province.

Material examined. Puntarenas— Osa, Térraba-Sierpe, Tahual Estuary, X 583,557, Y 107,761, 16 m a.s.l., III.2010, (B. Pacheco): 17 males, 24 females, 75 nymphs ( MZUCR).
