Previously recorded from Honduras to Venezuela and Grenada, including the Costa Rican provinces of Alajuela, Cartago, Limón, San José, and Puntarenas ( Uhler 1894; Drake & Harris 1942; Drake & Hottes 1951b; Hungerford 1954; Spangler et al. 1985; Polhemus & Spangler 1989; Molano et al. 2005, 2008, 2017b; Castro & Morales 2011; Padilla-Gil & Pacheco-Chaves 2012). During our samples, it was collected in lagoons and lakes from the Pacific and Atlantic slopes, up to 2,700 m a.s.l.
Material examined. Alajuela —San Carlos, Crucitas, 50 m a.s.l., 25. IV.2008, (B. Pacheco): 5 males, 1 female, 1 nymph ( MZUCR) . Cartago —Turrialba, Angostura Reservoir, 300 m from CATIE, 4.XI.2009, (M. Herrera): 1 male, 1 female, 1 nymph ( MZUNA) . Irazú Volcano National Park, Sector Prusia , N 09°57´42.05´´, W- 83°52´20.77´´, aprox. 2700 m. a.s.l., VI. 2011, (F. Herrera): 1 male ( MZUCR) GoogleMaps . Limón —Peje, Peje Lagoon, 28 m a.s.l., X 590,648, Y 239,939.3, 28.VIII.2010, (B. Pacheco): 2 males, 4 females ( MZUCR) . Puntarenas— Osa , Rincón River, 10 m a.s.l., 27.IX.1996, (M. Springer): 6 males, 2 females ( MZUCR) . San José— Universidad para la Paz Park Lake, Cuidad Colón, 2.IX.2000, 1 male, 2 females ( MZUCR) .
